Here is a wip post for my current class homework - looking for any feedback at all on these, and I think I should do a few more instead of taking any of these to a finish. Haven't taken environments this far with scale and architecture so it's a challenging battle
DUDE! Awesome job! I love the detailing in the refined versions. I really like the way you sculpted the shape ship! As for critiquing, I would have to say that the foreground in the second one flattens out quite a bit. I think just a few indications of form would help. Also I would suggest that the last one benefits from the older composition from the sketch. I found that there was a good rhythm in the sketch but that could just be my personnel taste. Overall, great job! :D
ReplyDeleteHey Sunny - that's two crits for the amount of foreground space in picture two, definitely going to deal with that and try some new things!
ReplyDeleteI'm very happy also that you agree in that the first pass of the last image was actually reading more strongly - I think my midground tones have gotten too dark and the new lighting is actually obscuring the path too much. I'll test that out and try to return the feeling of the initial one :)
