Here's a new location drawing from around Vancouver. I do all the drawing on site in pencil before retreating to take a break and ink over some coffee. Usually 2 of these cycles will complete an illustration.
Life study while having lunch. A cloth focused study turned into a groin study as well, apparently.
This small sketchbook has become one for 'doodle drawings'. Starting with very abstract shapes on the page I used my surroundings to flow within the provided composition and shapes. Some of them got twisted with interesting overlaps, others end up inspiring further abstractions to confirm a bit of the style
It's really neat how a page of drawings can 'fit' together within a subtly different style. Certain new areas of focus must take the forefront when you're relaxed enough to explore? These aren't necessarily very successful but different feels good in my books.
